Are your worries keeping you awake at night? ⠀
⠀
💡Here are a few top tips to help get some precious shut-eye:⠀
⠀
⏰Create a “worry time” – a period of your day (maybe 20 mins?) which you set aside to do nothing except think about whatever worries are on your mind – the rest of the day though, is a worry free zone! (don’t make your worry time too close to bedtime!)⠀
⠀
📝Get those worries on paper – get out of bed, write down a list of your worries then resolve to revisit them in the morning if you wish.⠀
⠀
💪Try progressive muscle relaxation – work through your body, starting at your toes and moving upwards, focussing on slowly tensing and relaxing every muscle (look out for future post on how to do this!)⠀
⠀
🧘‍♀️Download a mindfulness app – these have loads of meditation practices which can help you calm your mind before sleep. ⠀
⠀
📚Listen to an audiobook – Bedtime stories aren’t just for children -getting distracted by listening to a book you love can take your mind off your worries. ⠀
